HABIGANJ, Feb 28, 2026 (BSS) – An Iftar party was held at the central Eidgah Maidan of the district on Friday evening to seek forgiveness for the souls  Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and three-time Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.
 
At the iftar party, the doa mahfil was organized by Alhaj GK Gaus, MP for Habiganj-3 (Sadar, Lakhai and Shayestaganj) constituency and Organizing Secretary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Central Committee.
 
According to the organizers, the Iftar mahfil was arranged for the eternal peace of the departed souls of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and three-time Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.
 
Special prayers were offered at the mahfil for the welfare, peace and prosperity of the country and the nation. Prayers were also offered for the sound health and long life of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
 
Among others, Advocate Aminul Islam, Chief Prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal, attended the event. Leaders and activists of BNP and its associate bodies, alliance leaders, lawyers, journalists, Khatib-Imams and people from various professions were also present at the gathering.
