7 excavators used for cutting soil damaged in midnight operation in Satkania

CHATTOGRAM, February 28, 2026 (BSS): The upazila administration conducted a midnight operation against illegal soil cutting in Satkania upazila of the district. During the operation, seven excavators were damaged, and a freight pickup and an excavator were seized. 

Satkania Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Shamsuzzaman confirmed the recoveries on Saturday (February 28) and mentioned that the operation occurred in Nayakhal and Keranihat areas of Satkania from 12 am to 3 am on Friday.
 
During the operation, seven excavators used for illegal soil cutting were damaged, and a dumper and an excavator were seized. 

Assistant Commissioner Shamsuzzaman emphasized the administration's firm stance against illegal soil cutting to safeguard the environment and agricultural land. 

The operation received support from army officers and the National Security Intelligence Agency. He assured that similar campaigns by the Satkania Upazila administration will be ongoing.
