Man killed in Lalmonirhat road crash

LALMONIRHAT, Feb 28, 2026 (BSS) - A man was killed in a road accident in 
Patgram upazila of the district on Saturday morning.
 
The deceased was identified as Rafiquzzaman Palash, 35, a resident of 
Badarganj upazila in Rangpur district. He was working as a manager at a 
Walton showroom in Patgram. 
 
The accident occurred around 11:30 am in Shimultala area of Sarwar Bazar. 
According to police and local sources, Palash was heading towards Baura Bazar 
on a motorcycle to collect outstanding installments when a stone-laden truck 
hit his vehicle.
 
The impact threw him onto the road, causing severe head injuries. He died on 
the spot.
 
Sub-Inspector (SI) Swapan Kumar of Patgram Police Station said police 
recovered the body after receiving information. Efforts are underway to 
identify the truck involved in the crash.
