Dr Zahid visits graves of PM’s maternal grandparents, aunt in Dinajpur

DINAJPUR, Feb 28, 2026 (BSS) - Minister for Women and Children Affairs and Social Welfare Dr Abu Jafar Md Zahid Hossain today visited the graves of the maternal grandparents and aunt of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at Faridpur Graveyard here.

The minister offered prayers and sought blessings at the graves of the father-in-law and mother-in-law of BNP’s founder and Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman. They are Late Iskandar Majumdar and Late Taiyeba Majumdar  -- parents of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia -- and her sister Late Khurshid Jahan Haque.

President of Dinajpur district BNP Advocate Md. Mofazzal Hossain Dulal, General Secretary Bakhtiar Ahmed Kachi and other local BNP leaders were present at the time.

After the visit, Dr. Zahid said that he felt blessed to visit the graves of the Prime Minister’s maternal grandparents and aunt during the holy month of Ramadan.

He added that the deceased were esteemed persons of the area. He prayed to Almighty Allah to grant them eternal peace in Jannah. Later, special prayers were offered seeking the welfare of the country and the nation.
