BAGERHAT, March 5, 2026 (BSS) –A doa and iftar mahfil were held in Fakirhat upazila of the district seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.

The programme was organised at the premises of Azahar Ali College in Fakirhat upazila.

BNP leader Iftekhar Ahmed Palash presided over the event.

Bagerhat district BNP Convener Engineer ATM Akram Hossain Talim attended the programme as the chief guest, while BNP leader Kapil Krishna Mondol was present as special guest.

Addressing the gathering, the chief guest said the ideals and patriotism of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman remain a source of inspiration for the younger generation.

He said BNP leaders and activists must remain united to protect the country and democracy and work together to uphold the rights of the people.

A large number of leaders and activists of Fakirhat upazila BNP and its associate bodies attended the programme.

A special prayer was offered at the end of the event seeking eternal peace for departed souls of Ziaur Rahman and Khaleda Zia, as well as peace and prosperity  of the country and the nation.
