Helper killed in Madaripur road accident

MADARIPUR, March 8, 2026 (BSS) - A truck helper was killed and two others 
were injured in a road accident on the Dhaka-Barishal highway under Rajoir 
upazila of the district on Sunday morning.

The accident took place at 5.30 am near Shikdarbari Jame Mosque in Alamdasta 
area. According to eyewitnesses, a truck carrying wood had been parked on the 
side of the road after one of its wheels came off. Moments later, a speeding 
truck lost control and collided with the stationary vehicle.

Ismail Hossain, 18, the helper of the parked truck, was killed instantly. He 
was the son of the truck's driver, Russell Hossain, who was also injured in 
the crash and was rushed to the hospital for treatment. Ismail and Russell 
Hossain are residents of Subarnachar in Char Jabbar Police Station of 
Noakhali district.

The driver of the second truck involved in the incident, Md. Sohel Kabir, 37, 
also sustained injuries and has been taken to the hospital.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rajoir Police Station Sheikh Md. Aminul Islam 
confirmed the matter.
