RAJSHAHI, March 9, 2026 (BSS) - Popular Life Insurance Company Limited has paid Tk 56 lakh in death and maturity insurance claims in Rajshahi.
The company handed over the cheques to customers at a programme held on Sunday afternoon at its district office in the city's New Market area.
At the event, the company distributed cheques among 67 customers whose policies had matured and the nominee of one deceased policyholder.
Rajshahi Press Club General Secretary Md. Golam Mostafa Mamun attended the programme as the chief guest.
He said insurance plays an important role in ensuring people's future security and timely settlement of claims helps strengthen public confidence in insurance institutions.
Senior Deputy Managing Director of Popular Life Insurance Company Limited Md. Tanvir Al Azad Naeem presided over the programme.
He said the company began its journey in 2000 and has since been contributing to employment generation, poverty alleviation and the country's economic development.
So far, the company has settled claims of 77 lakh policyholders and paid death claims to nearly 1.5 lakh beneficiaries.
Later, the organisers arranged an iftar and doa mahfil attended by customers, company officials, employees and invited guests.
