RAB-13 tightens security in Rangpur division marking Eid-ul-Fitr

RANGPUR, March 18, 2026 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 has strengthened security in Rangpur division to ensure smooth journey of people returning home on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr and to control law and order and traffic congestion.

The elite force has established a support center at the Modern intersection in Rangpur city, the entrance of Rangpur division, to ensure the safety of people returning home in Rangpur and other districts and prevent harassment, said a press release. 

Members of RAB-13 are working round the clock to ensure the safety of people returning home. 

Patrol activities have been increased in various areas of all eight districts of Rangpur division under the jurisdiction of RAB-13 on the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr. 

Patrols and multiple teams in plain clothes are deployed in various areas of Rangpur division including Rangpur, Gaibandha, Nilphamari, Dinajpur and other districts to provide security. 

Foot patrols of RAB-13 are also underway in various areas including various shopping malls, bus terminals, railway stations. 

In order to prevent unwanted theft, robbery, snatching, extortion and terrorist activities and ensure safety of homebound people, various vehicles are being searched by setting up check posts on roads to prevent the transportation of illegal goods and objects. 

In coordination with the police, RAB-13 members have taken necessary measures to control traffic jams. 

Moreover, RAB-13 members are working to prevent and identify the spread of counterfeit money in various shopping malls and markets. 

RAB-13 is operating joint mobile courts with the district administration and the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection in the markets of various districts of Rangpur division to control illegal hoarding and product quality. 

In addition, RAB-13's monitoring team is always active in monitoring the cyber world to prevent rumors and misinformation. 

While traveling, considering the safety of oneself and family members, the elite force requested all concerned to refrain from risky travel on the roof of the bus or in other goods-carrying vehicles including trucks, pickups etcetera. 

Train passengers have been requested to refrain from risky travel on the roof, buffer, steps and engine of the train. 

Travelling people have been advised to refrain from accepting food or drinks from any unknown person during journeys in any type of transport. 

In particular, to ensure the safety and security of people during the Eid-centered holidays, and to maintain the law and order situation, the Robust Patrol Team and plainclothes RAB members will be engaged in strengthening flawless security measures.
