2 killed, 6 injured in a road accident in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, March 25, 2026 (BSS) - Two people, including a rickshaw passenger, were killed in a tragic accident in Chandanaish upazila of the district today.
  
The incident occurred when a private car collided with a parked rickshaw, resulting in the deaths of Babul Dey (65) and Ranjit Dhar (55) from Das Para in Dohazari. Six others were injured in the accident, which took place in front of Rajmahal Community Center near Dohazari Electricity Office on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar highway this morning.
  
The injured individuals are Dilip Mallick (62), Tiklu Biswas (40), and the private car passengers Md. Riyad (40), Jerin Afroz (65), Md. Ehsan (40), and Mashiur Rahman (43).
   
Local Babla Das said that the injured were initially taken to Dohazari Health Complex in critical conditions. Following primary treatment, they were transferred to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) for further medical care. Upon arrival at CMCH, Babul Dey and Ranjit Dhar were pronounced dead by the attending doctor.
  
Salauddin Chowdhury, the Officer-in-Charge of Dohazari Highway Police Station, stated that upon receiving the information, police personnel from the station rushed to the scene of the accident. The two vehicles involved in the collision were recovered and brought to the police station for further investigation. Legal proceedings are currently underway in connection with the incident.
