BGB seizes Indian goods worth Tk 30.71 lack at Netrokona border

NETROKONA, April 3, 2026 (BSS) - A team of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Netrokona Battalion (31 BGB) seized a large quantity of Indian goods along with an abandoned mini truck during a drive at the district’s border area.

Commanding Officer of 31 BGB, Lt. Col. Touhidul Bari confirmed the matter in a press release today.

Based on secret information, a 10-member special patrol team from Baruakona BOP of Netrokona Battalion (31 BGB) conducted the drive around 3 am on Friday in the Rajabari Bridge area under Rangchhati union No. 8 of Kalmakanda upazila, according to the press release. 

During the operation, BGB patrol members spotted a truck and intercepted it. The smugglers immediately escaped the scene leaving the vehicle behind.
 
Later, a search of the abandoned truck led to the seizure of 210 kg of Indian cumin, 1,264 kg of Fuchka, and 1,000 pieces of Ponds powder, all brought in illegally.

The estimated value of the seized goods, including the truck, is Taka 30 lakh 71 thousand 480.

Lt. Col. Touhidul Bari said the confiscated smuggled goods would be handed over to the Netrokona Customs Office.
