Joypurhat's school girl rescued, abductor held in Rangpur

RANGPUR, April 10, 2026 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested the main abductor and rescued the victim schoolgirl of Joypurhat district from the Madhya Peerjabadh Rahmatpara area of Rangpur metropolis on Thursday afternoon.
 
The arrested main accused abductor is Md Nayeem Islam, 30, son of Md Alam Hossain of village Komarpur under Sadar police station of Joypurhat district, said a RAB-13's press release here today. 
 
Citing the statement of the case filed in this connection, the release said that the victim, 15, of the same area is a regular student of the ninth grade. 
 
The arrested accused often proposed love to the victim on the way to and from school. 
 
Later, when the victim got upset and informed her parents, her father forbade the arrested accused from doing such wrongdoing. The accused got angry and repeatedly threatened the victim in various ways.
 
Subsequently, at 9:15 am on April 4, 2026, as soon as the victim reached Kadamtali intersection from her house for private studies, the arrested accused and his accomplices forcibly kidnapped her and took her to an unknown place. 
 
Later, the victim's father filed a kidnapping case with Joypurhat Sadar police station on April 9, 2026 in this incident.
 
On a tip off, a smart team of the RAB-13's Crime Prevention Specialised Company in a drive arrested the main accused Md Nayeem Islam and rescued the victim from the Madhya Peerjabadh Rahmatpara area of Rangpur city at 2:15 pm on Thursday.
 
The victim and the accused have been handed over to Joypurhat Sadar police station for further legal action.
