NARAIL, April 14, 2026 (BSS) - Pahela Baishakh, the first day of Bangla New Year 1433, is being celebrated in a grand manner in Narail today, with colourful festivities and traditional enthusiasm.

Narail district administration began the day with a vibrant 'Borsho Boron Baishakhi Shobhajatra' at 7 am from the Narail Government Victoria College Sultan Mancha premises, which concluded at the District Shilpakala Academy premises.

Narail Deputy Commissioner Dr. Mohammad Abdul Salam, District Council Administrator Freedom Fighter Mostafizur Rahman Alek, Additional Superintendent of Police Noor-e Alam Siddiqui, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Ahsan Mahmud Russel, Narail Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer T.M. Rahsin Kabir, officials from government and non-government organisations, as well as people from different socio-cultural organisations, students and teachers of educational institutions, joined the rally in a festive mood.

To mark the occasion, a discussion meeting, drawing and essay competitions for children, cultural programmes, a prize distribution ceremony and a 'Lokoj Mela' will be held.

Educational institutions, including Sultan Fine Arts College, are also celebrating the Bangla New Year with their own distinct cultural identity and traditions.
