BAGERHAT, April 16, 2026 (BSS)- Distribution of Ufshi Aush paddy, summer moong dal and sesame (Til) seeds and fertilizers among small and marginal farmers has begun at Kachua here yesterday.

Kachua Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Ali Hasan inaugurated the distribution under the Agricultural Incentive Program for the Kharip-1 season at Upazila agriculture office hall room, officials today said.

Upazila Agriculture Officer Akash Bairagi, Upazila Rural Poverty Alleviation Officer Hasan Imam and local journalists and political leaders were present.

According to the Upazila Agriculture Office, agricultural incentive will be distributed among 1,790 farmers in the current season.
 
In 7 unions, 1,600 farmers will receive 5 kg of Ufshi Aush paddy seeds, 150 farmers will receive 5 kg of summer mung bean seeds, and 40 farmers will receive 1 kg of sesame seeds. 

Every registered farmer is getting 10 kg of DAP fertilizer and 5 kg of MOP fertilizer free of cost, officials said.
 
The government’s intensive program has been undertaken for farmers aimed at encouraging the marginal farmers to cultivate Aush and summer crops.

Agri officials urged the farmers to follow right way and apply modern technology in cultivating their crops, highlighting the importance of using the seeds and fertilizers.

They hoped that the initiative will be helpful increasing Aush and pulse production in the region.
