Filling station in Gazipur fined over discrepancy of around 1,000 liters of fuel

GAZIPUR, April 15, 2026 (BSS) - A joint drive by Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and the district administration has uncovered irregularities in fuel stock at a filling station in Pubail, Gazipur, leading to a fine of Tk 20,000.

On information, the operation was carried out this afternoon at Messrs Habib Filling Station, said a BGB press release.

The joint team comprised members of BGB Gazipur Battalion (63 BGB) and an executive magistrate from the Gazipur district administration.

During the drive, authorities cross-checked the station's official records with the actual stock of fuel and found a discrepancy of around 1,000 liters of fuel.

Following the findings, the executive magistrate imposed a fine of Tk 20,000 on the owner of the filling station.

Commanding Officer of Gazipur Battalion, Lt. Col. Md. Masud Al Ferdous, said that BGB remains committed to ensuring the smooth supply of fuel across the country and maintaining market stability.

He added that strict actions will continue against any attempts to illegally hoard fuel or disrupt the market.

Officials also warned that such operations will be intensified in the future to curb irregularities in the fuel sector.
