DHAKA, April 15, 2026 (BSS) - A Dhaka court today placed Majedul Haque Helal, who allegedly supplied the weapon used in the murder of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi, on a three-day remand in the case.

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Jashita Islam passed the order as police produced the accused before the court and prayed for a seven-day remand in the case.

Hadi was shot while travelling in a battery-run auto-rickshaw on December 12, 2025, around 2:20 pm in the Bijoy Nagar Box Culvert Road area in the capital.

Inqilab Mancha Member Secretary Abdullah Al Zaber filed the case with Paltan Model Police Station on December 14.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Siddiq Azad on December 20 ordered the inclusion of Section 302 (murder) of the Penal Code in the case, which was initially filed as an attempted murder case, following Hadi's death on December 18.
