KHULNA, Apr 15, 2026 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Navy today has provided free medical services and distributed medicines among underprivileged people in Koyra upazila of Khulna.

A day-long medical camp was held from 10:00am to 4:00pm on Wednesday at Bedkashi Collegiate School and College premises under Uttar Bedkashi union to ensure healthcare services for people living in coastal and remote areas.

Men, women and children of different ages received treatment at the camp, where free medicines were also distributed among the patients after consultation.

Surgeon Lieutenant Commander Dr. Titli Abedin led the medical camp while Surgeon Lieutenant Commander Md. Awaliur Rahman, Surgeon Lieutenant Rubaiya Rahman and Surgeon Lieutenant Nazmul Haque also provided treatment.

Many service recipients said such initiatives are highly commendable as people in remote areas are often deprived of advanced healthcare services.

Talking to BSS, a media official of the Bangladesh Navy, Faruk Hossain, said the Navy had previously provided medical services to helpless people in remote areas during disasters and adverse situations and would continue such humanitarian activities in the future.
