
DHAKA, April 24, 2026 (BSS) – The Bangladesh Army has rescued six rubber plantation workers who were abducted in Lama upazila of Bandarban district.
“Multiple army patrol teams launched an immediate operation on April 23 and rescued the workers from the Hatirdera area under Tongkabti union of Lama upazila,” said an ISPR release today.
It said the abductors fled the scene after sensing the presence of army personnel, leaving the victims behind. The patrol team later rescued the workers safely.
The rescued individuals will be handed over to their families following due legal procedures, the ISPR added, noting that the concerned police station has been informed.
The army will continue such operations to ensure the safety and security of all communities in the Chattogram Hill Tracts, it said, reaffirming its commitment to maintaining peace and protecting public safety.
