GAIBANDHA, April 28, 2026 (BSS) - The National Nutrition Week 2026 has began in Palashbari upazila in the district under the theme "End nutrition discrimination, build a self-reliant nation."

Upazila Health Complex authorities organised the week on Monday to create awareness about nutrition among the people.

The inaugural session of the week was held at the hall room of the Upazila Health Complex with Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Sala Uddin Ahmed in the chair.

Resident Medical Officer Dr Istiyak Amin Olive, Upazila Agriculture Officer Sazzad Hossain, Upazila Social Services Officer Zillur Rahman, and Upazila Primary Education Officer Mosammat Golenur Begum, among others, addressed the function.

Speakers underscored the need for consuming nutritious foods to address malnutrition.
