Main suspect arrested in triple murder case in Faridpur

DHAKA, April 28, 2026 (BSS) - Police and RAB-10, in a joint operation, have arrested the prime suspect, Akash Molla (28), in connection with a brutal triple murder in Faridpur.

The incident occurred around 9pm on Monday, in Aliabad area under Faridpur Sadar Police Station, where three people-Amena Begum, 80, her daughter Rahela Begum, 50, and their neighbour 30-year-old rickshaw puller Kabul Ahmed.

Another victim, critically injured in the attack, is currently undergoing treatment at Faridpur Medical College Hospital.

Acting on intelligence and using technology, a joint team of police and RAB-10 conducted a drive in Aliabad and apprehended the accused, according to a press release.

He has been handed over to the concerned police station for legal action.

RAB stated it remains committed to a zero-tolerance policy against such heinous crimes and continues efforts to maintain law and order.
