Hindu-Buddhist-Muslims want to build a harmonious Ctg: Mayor

CHATTOGRAM, April 29, 2026 (BSS)- Chattogram City Corporation Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain today emphasized the importance of unity among all religious communities in building a peaceful and development-oriented Chattagram city.

“ To build a developed  and harmonious city, all of us should work unitedly  regardless of religion or caste and creed ,” the mayor stated.
 
During a greeting exchange program organized by CCC to celebrate Happy Buddha Purnima-2026, Dr. Shahadat Hossain highlighted the need for mutual respect and coexistence among Hindus, Buddhists, and Muslims to foster a humane and sustainable city.

The event, attended by officers and employees of the corporation, promoted the message of peace, humanity, and harmony with the theme "May all beings in the world be happy."
 
 Dr. Kissinger Chakma, Chief Education Officer and Deputy Secretary, was a special guest at the program.
 
The Mayor emphasized the swift implementation of development activities in coordination with all relevant departments. He acknowledged the recent water logging issues in the city due to heavy rains and assured that the City Corporation is actively working to address the problem promptly.
 
Expressing regret for the inconvenience caused to citizens, the Mayor concluded the program by thanking everyone and expressing his wish for the well-being and prosperity of all.
