JAMALPUR, May 1, 2026 (BSS) - The historic May Day was marked in Jamalpur today with various programmes.

The theme of the day for this year is 'Healthy Workers, Productive Hands, A New Dawn Awaits (Sustho Sramik, Karmotho Hat, Ashbe Ebar Nobo Provat).'

District Administration and the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments (DIFE) jointly organized the events, including a rally and a discussion meeting.

A procession was brought out in the town, while a discussion was held at the Deputy Commissioner's conference room with Additional District Magistrate AKM Abdullah Bin Rashid in the chair.

Lawmaker Advocate Md Shah Md Wares Ali Mamun attended the meeting as the chief guest. He highlighted the importance of harmonious relations between owners and workers for the country's development.

Officials, professionals and labour leaders, among others, took part in the programme.
