Land service fair to begin in Khulna on May 19

KHULNA, May 17, 2026 (BSS) – A three-day Land Service Fair will be held in the district, as well as across the country, from May 19 to 21 under the initiative of the Ministry of Land in line with the election manifesto of the incumbent government.

A press conference was held at the Circuit House conference room here today marking the occasion.

Additional Divisional Commissioner (Revenue) of Khulna Sifat Mehnaz addressed the press conference as the chief guest.

Speaking at the programme, she said Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will inaugurate the nationwide fair simultaneously from Tejgaon Bhumi Bhaban at 10 am on May 19.

Officials at the press conference said the Khulna district-level fair will be held on the premises of the Deputy Commissioner’s office from May 19 to 21.

A colourful procession will be brought out from Shaheed Hadis Park to the Deputy Commissioner’s office at 11am on May 19 marking the opening of the fair.

Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad Whip Rokibul Islam Bokul will attend the function as the chief guest.


The fair will remain open to visitors daily from 10am to 4pm.

Two separate seminars will be held during the fair at the offices of the Divisional Commissioner and the Deputy Commissioner in Khulna.

Students from different educational institutions will be provided with hands-on orientation on digital land services to raise awareness, while quiz competitions on land services and land laws will also be organised.

During the fair, assistance will be provided for online registration, holding entry and approval through the land service portal for payment of land development tax.

Support will also be given for filing e-mutation applications and completing mutation procedures.

Applications for certified copies of khatiyan and mouza maps will be accepted online, while compensation cheques related to land acquisition will be distributed directly from the fair.

Complaints regarding land services will also be received through public hearings and resolved quickly through due process, officials added.

Among others, Khulna Deputy Commissioner Hoore Jannat, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Kaniz Fatema Liza, Khulna Press Club President Mostafa Sarwar and General Secretary Md Tarikul Islam, along with journalists from print and electronic media, were present.
