DHAKA, May 15, 2026 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have arrested 80 people allegedly involved in various crimes in separate special drives conducted in the last 24 hours in different areas of the city.

DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) NM Nasiruddin said this in a press release issued today.

Of the arrestees, 49 were arrested from different areas under Tejgaon Division-five in Tejgaon Police Station, six in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station, 16 under Mohammadpur Police Station, seven under Adabor Police Station, eight under Tejgaon Industrial Zone Police Station and seven under Hatirjheel Police Station.

In Mirpur, police arrested 31 people during a special drive in different areas under Mirpur Model Police Station.

The arrestees were sent to court, and the drive will continue aiming to maintain law and order stability, said the release.
