3 held with fake notes in separate raids in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, May 17, 2026 (BSS) – Members of Rapid Action Battalion have detained three individuals with counterfeit currency amounting to Taka 113,600 in separate drives in the city and Hathazari upazilas of the district.
 
The detainees are Md. Ashan Ullah Prakash Hasan ,35, Jahidul Islam Prakash Asif ,21, and Hasanur Rahi ,19. RAB-7 Assistant Director (Media) ARM Mozaffar Hossain stated on Saturday that the arrests were made during raids conducted in Panchlaish and Hathazari from Friday afternoon to night.
 
According to RAB, a raid was carried out in front of Shukkur Motors on Hamzarbagh Jilani Goli in Panchlaish based on confidential information.

 Md. Ashan Ullah Prakash Hasan ,35, was apprehended as he attempted to flee upon sensing RAB's presence. Subsequently, fake notes amounting to Tk 112,750 were discovered in a white shopping bag he was carrying. Achan Ullah's residence is in the Mahishad area of Bedarganj police station in Shariatpur district.
 
Later that day, around 10:30 pm, RAB conducted another raid in front of Mustafa Hotel in Alipur Abbasiapur area of Hathazari police station, leading to the arrest of Jahidul Islam Prakash Asif ,21, and Hasanur Rahi ,19. Asif had counterfeit notes worth Taka 400 in his pants pocket, while Rahi had Tk 450 in his possession. Their residences are in Shaldhar and Charigram areas of Parshuram police station in Feni district.
 
The arrested individuals were handed over to the respective police stations, and legal action is being pursued against them, ARM Mozaffar Hossain mentioned.
