Farmer electrocuted in Tangail

TANGAIL, June 15, 2026 (BSS) - A farmer died tragically after being electrocuted while cutting grass in Chanderhat area of Nayakachua village 
under Sakhipur upazila of the district on Monday afternoon.

The deceased was Goni Mia, 55, son of Ahammad of Chanderhat area in Kochua village of the upazila.

According to police, Goni Mia came in contact with a live electric-wire lying on the ground while cutting grass around 3 pm, leaving him critically 
injured. 

Local people rescued the farmer and rushed him to Sakhipur Upazila Health Complex, where the attending physician declared him dead.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) Helal Uddin of Sakhipur Police Station confirmed the matter and said the body was handed over to the family after the completion 
of legal formalities.
