World Vision Bangladesh distributes saplings of trees in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, June 24, 2026 (BSS)- World Vision Bangladesh distributed saplings of wood, medicinal, and fruit-bearing trees to the beneficiaries of the organization to help protect the environment and meet nutritional needs. 

Area program manager of the organization, Naresh Marandi, said the government led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman set a target to plant 25 crore saplings across the country within 5 years, to maintain the ecological balance.

He added that to help the government fulfill the tree plantation target, the organization adopted the program and to make the program a grand success, the organization distributed as many as 12, 540 saplings of wood, medicinal and fruit-bearing trees to 2508 beneficiaries living at Kholahati, Kuptola, Laxmipur, Sahapara, Ballamjhar, Ramchandrapur, Badiakhali, Ghagoa and Gidari unions under Sadarupazila of the district in the last few days.

Earlier, the beneficiaries were provided with need-based training to plant the saplings well and to take care of them like their own children to get a good return from the planted trees in the future, he further added.
