
MAGURA, June 25, 2026 (BSS) - A total of 21,725 children in Sreepur upazila will be administered Vitamin 'A' capsules under the National Vitamin 'A' Plus Campaign on June 28.
The information was disclosed at an orientation and advocacy meeting held at the Sreepur Upazila Health Complex today.
Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Md Ashrafuzzaman Liton said 2,475 children aged between 6 and 11 months will receive blue-coloured Vitamin 'A' capsules, while 19,250 children aged between 12 and 59 months will be given red-coloured capsules.
He said the campaign will be conducted through 193 centres, including 192 regular EPI centres and one additional centre, across the eight unions of the upazila.
According to Health Complex sources, 23 Health Assistants, 23 Family Welfare Assistants, 19 Community Health Care Providers and 24 first-line supervisors will work in the field to ensure the success of the campaign.
In addition, 386 trained volunteers will assist at the centres, while special booths with additional capsule stocks have been set up in different areas to facilitate children living in remote locations.
Sreepur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Oli Mia, hospital officials, doctors, field workers and local journalists, among others, attended the meeting.
