Five Bangladeshis killed in Qatar road accident laid to rest in Sylhet

SYLHET, June 30, 2026 (BSS) - The funeral rites of five Bangladeshi expatriates who were killed in a

road accident in Qatar were completed today after Zuhr prayers at their respective villages in

Kanaighat upazila of Sylhet.

A joint namaz-e-janaza for the five victims was held at the Gachhbari Mazahirul Ulum Qawmi Madrasah

premises, led by local Member of Parliament Mufti Maulana Abul Hasan.

After the prayers, Mustak Ahmed, Zubayer Ahmed and Kader Ahmed were laid to rest at their family

graveyards in Majhtaluk village, while Jibal Uddin and Jasim Uddin were buried in Amarpur and Agtaluk

villages respectively.

The five expatriates were killed in a devastating road accident in Doha on the morning of June 21

while travelling to their workplace.

All of them hailed from the Gachhbari area under South Banigram Union of Kanaighat upazila.

Their bodies arrived at Sylhet MAG Osmani International Airport at around 6:45 am today on Biman

Bangladesh Airlines flight BG-226, where grieving relatives received them.
