2 held with 6kgs of cannabis in Bagerhat

KHULNA, July 14, 2026 (BSS) – Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-6 arrested two alleged drug traders along with six kilograms of cannabis during a drive in Fakirhat upazila of Bagerhat district.

According to a RAB-6 press release, the raid was conducted at Katakhali area under Fakirhat Police Station at around 5.40 pm on Monday, acting on a tip-off, as part of the force's ongoing anti-narcotics campaign under its "zero tolerance" policy against drugs.

The arrestees were identified as Saim Majhi, 20, of Juskhosa area in Pirojpur district, and Tuhin Hawlader, 18, of Jiodhora Bazar area in Morelganj upazila of Bagerhat.

RAB members seized six kilograms of cannabis from their possession during the operation.

A case has been filed against the duo under the Narcotics Control Act with Fakirhat Police Station.

The arrested persons, along with the seized drugs, were handed over to the police station for further legal action, the release added.
