Seeds, fertilizers distributed among 1200 farmers in Feni

FENI, July 26, 2026 (BSS) - A total of 1,200 small and marginal farmers in the district have received free seeds and chemical fertilizers under the government's agricultural incentive programme for the 2025–26 fiscal year.

The distribution ceremony was held on Sunday morning at Sadar Upazila Auditorium, where Member of Parliament (MP) for Feni-2, Professor Zainal Abedin VP, attended as the chief guest and formally distributed the agricultural inputs.

The programme was organized by the Sadar Agriculture Office and presided over by Feni Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sultana Nasrin Kanta. 

Additional Deputy Director (Crops) of the Department of Agricultural Extension, Md. Masud Hossain, attended as the special guest. Upazila Agriculture Officer Md. Mohiuddin delivered the welcome address.

Speaking at the event, Professor Zainal Abedin emphasized the vital role of farmers in ensuring the country's food security.

Among others, Feni Sadar Upazila BNP Convener Fazlur Rahman Bokul, Municipal Convener Delwar Hossain Babul, Upazila Member Secretary Aman Uddin Qaiser Sabbir, District Krishak Dal President Md. Jasim Uddin, Joint Convener of Feni Sadar Upazila BNP Tapan Kar, and Feni Sadar Upazila Krishak Dal Convener Hafizur Rahman also addressed the programme.

UNO Sultana Nasrin Kanta said that farmers from all 12 unions and one municipality under Feni Sadar Upazila received high-yielding and hybrid vegetable seeds along with chemical fertilizers worth Taka over 18 lakh free of cost.
