Health officials report 458 fresh cases of dengue inflection, 3 deaths overnight

DHAKA, July 26, 2026 (BSS) - Health officials today said they recorded 458 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts killing at least three persons in the past 24 hours.

“During the period, (of the 458) 99 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 78 in Chattogram division, 15 in Dhaka division, 76 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 81 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 48 in Khulna division, 26 in Mymensingh division, 26 in Rajshahi division and 10 in Rangpur division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.

Since the start of the dengue onslaughts Bangladesh this year witnessed so far 43 deaths while the disease inflicted 13,098.

The dengue last year claimed 413 lives and inflicted 1,02,861 people in the country.

Besides, the dengue claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in 2024.
