RANGPUR, Aug 15, 2026 (BSS)- Rangpur district and metropolitan BNP held doa
mahfils on the occasion of the 82nd birth anniversary of former Prime
Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
On Saturday afternoon, the district BNP first held a doa mehfil at the party
office at the Grand Hotel Mour in the city.
District BNP convener Md Saiful Islam, former MP Shahidar Rahman Josna, BNP
leader Liton Parvez and others were present.
After that, reserved women MP Advocate Rezeka Sultana Fency, Rangpur
Development Authority Chairman Md Shamsuzzaman Samu, Rangpur City Corporation
Administrator Advocate Mahfuz Un-Nabi Don and leaders of the affiliated
organisations participated in the doa mehfil at the initiative of the
metropolitan BNP.
At this time, the speakers said that democracy has repeatedly returned to the
country through Khaleda Zia's leadership and struggle.
She has received the title of uncompromising leader because she did not
compromise in the interests of the country.
The speakers also said that the development of the country should be taken
forward by embracing Begum Khaleda Zia's life philosophy.
The arrogance of the leaders and activists of the fallen fascist government
should be confronted.
At this time, special doa mehfil was held for the well-being of the departed
souls of former BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, Shaheed President Ziaur
Rahman and the country.
Meanwhile, a doa mehfil was organised by the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Mohila
Dal, Rangpur Metropolitan, on the occasion of the 82nd birth anniversary of
the uncompromising national leader and former Prime Minister, the late Begum
Khaleda Zia, at the Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industries auditorium on
Saturday at 4 pm.
The doa mehfil was attended by Advocate Rezeka Sultana Fancy, MP, from the
reserved women's seat and the president of the Rangpur Metropolitan
Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal.
The programme was attended by the invited guests Md Shamsuzzaman Samu,
convener of the Rangpur Metropolitan BNP and chairman of the Rangpur
Development Authority, Rangpur City Corporation Administrator and Rangpur
Metropolitan BNP member secretary Advocate Mahfuz Un Nabi Don and other
leaders.
