Police Headquarters denies rumors of IGP's resignation

DHAKA, Feb 15, 2026 (BSS) - The Police Headquarters (PHQ) has dismissed reports circulating on various platforms regarding the alleged resignation of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Baharul Alam, describing the claims as 'incorrect and misleading.'

In an official statement issued on Sunday, Police Headquarters clarified that the news about the IGP stepping down from his position is completely false. 

"Reports regarding the resignation of the IGP are not correct. Everyone is requested to refrain from spreading such confusion," the statement read.

Authorities emphasized that the IGP continues to perform his duties as usual and there has been no development regarding his resignation.
