DHAKA, July 23, 2026 (BSS) – The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has warned the people over the fake facebook accounts and pages in the name of Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon.

As the ministry expressed concern as multiple fake facebook accounts and pages are being operated recently in the social media by using name, identity and photos of the minister, said a ministry release here today.

Even these fake facebook accounts and pages are also publishing fake speech, confused information and content of the minister which are totally illegal and unethical”, said the release. 

There is only a verified face book account after the minister’s own name with a blue checkmark next to its name, it said, adding that but the minister has no connection or approval with any other facebook accounts except it, the release added.

The ministry also has requested people not to take these fake facebook contents into account and inform to the proper authority.
