DHAKA, Sept 8, 2026 (BSS) - Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Administrator and Valiant Freedom Fighter Md Abdus Salam has expressed hope that Kamrangirchar in the capital will be transformed into a beautiful and planned city within the next five years.

“Although Kamrangirchar is in a challenging environment, it is possible to transform it into a modern and clean city with everyone’s cooperation and a proper master plan,” he said.

Highlighting the new possibilities for Kamrangirchar, Salam said, “Many cities around the world were once overwhelmed by dirt and waste, but were later transformed into beautiful cities through proper planning and management.”

He made the remarks today while addressing a reception accorded to meritorious students who secured GPA-5 in the SSC, Dakhil and equivalent examinations in Kamrangirchar.

The event was organised by the Teachers-Employees Unity Council, while Dhaka-7 constituency lawmaker Hamidur Rahman attended it as the special guest.

Encouraging the meritorious students, he said, “Kamrangirchar will be illuminated in the days ahead by your talent and fragrance. Along with building yourselves as honest and clean-minded people, you must also take responsibility for keeping the environment around you clean.”

Students, guardians, teachers and local dignitaries from various educational institutions in Kamrangirchar attended the programme.
