Sports festival of autistic children held in Bagerhat

BAGERHAT, Jan 16, 2025 (BSS)- The sports festival with the participation of autistic children marking the ‘Festival of Youth’ was held at Swadhinata Uddyan in Bagerhat on Thursday.
 
Bagerhat Deputy Commissioner Ahmed Kamrul Ahsan formally inaugurated the festival as the chief guest.

Bagerhat district sports officer Hussain Ahmad, district children's officer Achaduzzaman, district disability officer Shamim Ahsan along with teachers, students and parents of various intellectually challenged schools were also present.

After the inauguration, the children were involved in dancing, singing and various sports activities.

Children, who are suffering from autism, participated in various games including basketball, badminton, football, balloon bursting and chocolate race. Many students performed dances and sang songs.

The children and their parents were happy to participate in this exceptional festival.

Bagerhat Deputy Commissioner Ahmed Kamrul Ahsan said that autistic children should be promoted by providing various opportunities.

Advancing children will change the world.

This top official of the district said that such arrangements would continue in the future.

On the occasion, 74 students from different schools of the district participated in the sports festival, organized with the participation of autistic children.

Prizes were given by the organizers to each participating child after the sports festival.
