Dinajpur Youth Festival focuses on modern agricultural practices

DINAJPUR, Feb 25, 2025 (BSS) - A three-day agricultural fair kicked off today at Hakimpur Upazila in Dinajpur, aiming to inspire youth to engage with modern farming techniques.

Organized by the Agriculture and Rural Development Project of Rangpur Division, the fair highlights the role of agriculture in youth empowerment.

Upazila Executive Officer Amit Roy inaugurated the fair at 10:30 am, featuring 24 stalls where local farmers showed fruit, vegetable, and medicinal plant seedlings.

The fair began with a rally that ended at the Upazila Parishad premises, where a discussion session on agriculture was held, allowing farmers to exchange ideas.

Key local leaders such as Hakimpur Upazila Agriculture Officer Arjena Begum, Upazila BNP President Ferdous Rahman, and Jamaat-e-Islami Upazila Amir Aminul Islam attended the event.

Addressing the festival, Hakimpur Upazila Agriculture Officer Arjena Begum said "This fair is a platform to showcase modern farming practices and motivate youth to adopt them,''

She also explained that the fair is designed to introduce young people to innovative crop varieties developed by the Agriculture Department.

The fair will run until February 27, with officials from the Rangpur Divisional Department of Agriculture.
