Sports competition for children with special needs held

CUMILLA, May 28, 2025 (BSS) - A spirited sports competition and prize distribution ceremony for children with special needs was held today at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla. 

To mark the Festival of Youth 2025 celebrations, Cumilla District Sports Office organized the competition under the Sports Department's Annual Sports Programme 2025-26.

Senior Assistant Commissioner of the District Administration, Shahadat Hossain, attended the prize distribution ceremony as the chief guest, with District Sports Officer Sumon Kumar Mitra presiding over the event.
 
The event brought together forty enthusiastic participants with special needs who showcased their talents and determination in various athletic events.

Deputy director of the Department of Youth Development, Cumilla, Md. Shamsuzzaman; Assistant District Education officer Rikta Barua; district sports association members Golam Kibria, Khalid Saifullah and sports organizer Mahabubul Alam Chapal were also present at the event.
