NATIONAL HARBOR, United States, Feb 21, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - The White House insisted Friday that Ukraine will "in the very short term" sign a deal granting Washington access to its mineral deposits that was previously rejected by President Volodymyr Zelensky over its lack of security guarantees.

"Look, here's the bottom line, President Zelensky is going to sign that deal, and you will see that in the very short term, and that is good for Ukraine," Trump's National Security Advisor Michael Waltz told attendees at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on the outskirts of the capital Washington.
