LIBREVILLE, May 16, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - A Gabonese prosecutor said the wife and son of ousted leader Ali Bongo Ondimba who arrived in Angola early Friday had been provisionally freed awaiting the pair's trial for alleged embezzlement.

Eddy Minang said the release of Bongo's French-born wife Sylvia, 62, and son Noureddin, 33, "does not in any way interrupt the normal course of the proceedings which will continue until a fair, transparent, equitable and timely trial is held".
