DHAKA, July 21, 2025 (BSS)- Preya Ghalley slammed a brilliant hat-trick saw Bhutan finished their SAFF U-20 Women's Championship campaign with a winning note defeating Sri Lanka by 5-0 goals in their return match held at Bashundhara Kings arena in the capital today (Monday).

Bhutan earlier defeated Sri Lanka also by the same identical margin in their first encounter.

With this victory, Bhutan finished third position in the table with six points from six matches while all losers Sri Lanka failed to open their account playing the same number of matches.

In the day's match, Preya scored hat-trick with three goals in the 41st, 59th and 64th minutes while Sangay Wangmo and Namsel Wangzom supported him with a lone goal apiece for Bhutan in the 73rd and 81st minutes respectively.

Earlier, Bhutan lost 1-6 and 8-0 to Nepal, beat 5-0 to Sri Lanka, lost 4-1 and 3-0 to Bangladesh.

Only four teams -- Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka --are participating in the 6th edition of the tournament. The team that tops the league table after a double round-robin will be crowned champion.
