China's Xi sends condolences to Russian leader over plane crash: state media

BEIJING, July 24, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a message of condolence to Moscow's leader Vladimir Putin on Thursday after a passenger plane carrying nearly 50 people crashed in Russia's far eastern region of Amur.

"On behalf of the Chinese government and people, I would like to express my deep condolences to the victims and sincere sympathy to the families of the victims," Xi said, according to Chinese state broadcaster CCTV.
