Tornado kills 5, injures 130 in Brazil: local government

BRASILIA, Nov 8, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - A tornado killed at least five people and injured around 130 when it swept through parts of a town in southern Brazil on Friday, the local government said.

"The Civil Defense of Parana (State) regrets to report that five deaths have been confirmed as a result of the tornado" that hit the municipality of Rio Bonito do Iguacu, the agency said in a statement to AFP.
