WASHINGTON, United States, Jan 7, 2026 (BSS/AFP) - US President Donald Trump said Wednesday he doubted "NATO would be there for us if we really needed them," slamming the transatlantic security alliance in a post on his Truth Social platform.

"We will always be there for NATO, even if they won't be there for us," he wrote, a day after the White House said it was not ruling out military intervention to acquire Greenland from NATO ally Denmark.
