NATORE, Feb 8, 2026 (BSS) – Md. Abdul Aziz, BNP candidate for Natore-4 (Baraigram and Gurudaspur) constituency, has pledged to ensure quality education to build a talented and capable nation, if people elect him in the election.
Abdul Aziz, joint convener of BNP’s Natore district committee and former chairman of Gurudaspur Upazila Parishad, spoke on various aspects of the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election in an interview with BSS.
Asked about his electoral promises, Aziz said, “Through long-standing struggles, our country has secured independence and sovereignty, and democracy has been re-established. Previous mismanagement and embezzlement have pushed the country into crisis.”
“If entrusted with governance, we aim to rebuild the nation, accelerate development, and strengthen democracy,” he added.
He emphasized the need to reform education institutions, saying that number of quality educational institutions has declined, producing little talent. “We aim to ensure quality education and nurture a skilled generation. Infrastructure development will help accelerate growth in underdeveloped areas,” he added.
On social welfare-related works, Aziz said he would ensure salaries for religious leaders, provide housing for madrasa students, include teachers in the government payroll, and extend similar benefits to leaders of other religious institutions.
He added that family cards would allow marginalized communities to purchase essential goods at fair prices, while agricultural cards would enable farmers to access fertilizers, oil, and seeds affordably.
Regarding adherence to election code of conducts, he said, “I have shared the Election Commission’s code of conduct with my party workers and instructed them to follow it fully during the election.”
On the July Charter referendum, Aziz said, “We will follow any decisions or directives from the party leadership to our workers and voters.”
Expressing his expectations for the upcoming parliamentary polls, he said, “I have extensive electoral experience as I won four union council elections and the Upazila chairmanship. Voters are ready to exercise their long-denied rights, and I hope to secure a decisive victory.”
Natore-4 comprises two upazilas, three municipalities, and 13 unions, with 167 polling stations and a total of 445,172 voters, including 221,349 men, 223,820 women, and three third-gender voters.
