In an interview with BSS, Moksedul Momin, a public health researcher and joint secretary of AB Party’s Natore district unit, outlined his aims and goals about his constituency, if people elect him in the 13th national election.

Asked about his electoral promises, Momin said, “The spirit of the July uprising was to establish a society free of discrimination and a state of justice. We aim to create a state of justice for all citizens, ensure competent individuals are appointed to appropriate positions, eliminate bribery and all irregularities in employment and other sectors, and protect the rights of underprivileged people.”

He added that as an agricultural area, he would focus on farmers’ development, ensure mechanization and accessibility of agricultural tools, improve infrastructure such as roads, and expand education by establishing a medical college, a nursing college, and an engineering college in the region.

On adherence to the election code of conduct, Momin said he had instructed his party leaders and workers to fully comply with the guidelines issued by the Election Commission.

Regarding the July Charter-related referendum, he stated, “I have campaigned in the area well before the election, visiting people door to door. In our election campaign under the Eagle symbol, we are asking voters to vote for the ‘Yes’ symbol in support of implementing the July Charter.”

Expressing his expectations for the upcoming parliamentary election, Momin said, “I hope for a free, fair, and impartial election. I am conducting my campaign, and if the people accept me, I will be victorious. On election day, I will greet the winning candidate with garlands, whoever is elected.”
