Another accused gives confessional statement in Pallabi Jubo Dal leader Kibria murder case

DHAKA, Dec 11, 2025 (BSS) - Masum Billah alias Bhagne Masum, one of the accused in the case lodged over the killing of Pallabi Thana Jubo Dal leader Golam Kibria, today gave a statement under section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), confessing to killing the victim inside a hardware store last month.


Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Jewel Rana recorded his confessional statement and sent him back to jail afterwards.


Earlier the police pleaded to record his confessional statement as the accused agreed to give his statement under section 164.


Police on November 20 arrested Masum from Shariatpur. He was later placed on six-day police remand.


According to the case documents, three masked and helmeted assailants entered the store located in Mirpur-12 Block-C under Pallabi Police Station at around 6.30 pm on November 17 and shot Kibria dead. 


The victim's widow, Sabiha Akter Dina, filed the case on November 18, naming five people and seven to eight unidentified others.
