DHAKA, Jan 18, 2026 (BSS) - A Dhaka court today imposed a travel ban on four people, including Gemcon Group director Kazi Inam Ahmed and Neptune Housing Limited founder and former chairman Hasan Mahmud Raja, over graft allegations.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Faiz passed the order, allowing two separate petitions filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

In its plea against Kazi Inam Ahmed, the ACC said he allegedly acquired assets worth Taka 32.66 crore through illegal means and laundered Taka 74.78 crore through 14 bank accounts. The case is under investigation, and the ACC said he was attempting to flee abroad, which could hamper the probe.

In a separate plea, the ACC said an inquiry team is investigating allegations against Hasan Mahmud Raja, former Neptune Housing managing director Abul Kalam Azad, and United Group chairman Moin Uddin Hasan Rashid over illegal occupation of government-allotted property using forged documents, illicit wealth accumulation, money laundering abroad, and gas supply irregularities at IPP rates involving United Power Generation and Distribution Company Limited.

Reliable sources indicated that the accused were attempting to flee abroad, prompting the travel ban.
