One gets life term in businessman murder case in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, June 21, 2026 (BSS)- A court here today sentenced a youth to life imprisonment for the murder of businessman Abu Naser nine years ago.  

Chattogram Fifth Additional Metropolitan Session Judge Tajul Islam gave the verdict convicting Ismail Hossain Sujon, 45 in absentia.

The court also fined Ismail Taka 50,000 and asked to suffer one year more in jail in default.

Ismail is the son of Naser Ahmed of Khanpur village in the Sharifpur union of Begumganj upazila, Noakhali district. 

Abu Naser, 20, son of Abu Taher from South Salampur village in the Salampur union of Sitakunda upazila was murdered at Alankar Shopping Complex on March 24, 2017 following a dispute. 

Naser was running a mobile phone repairing shop on the second floor of the Alankar Shopping Complex.  

Naser’s mother Momtaz Begum filed the murder case with Pahartali Police Station accusing Ismail.
