Murder case suspect arrested in Khulna

KHULNA, June 22, 2026 (BSS) - Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have arrested a suspect in the sensational murder case of Amir Hamza in Bagerhat district.

The arrestee was identified as Md Faisal Badsha, 33, a resident of South Tutpara area of Khulna, according to a RAB press release issued today.

The release added that an operational team of RAB-6 conducted a raid at Matiakhali Fifth Lane under Labanchara Police Station in Khulna city at around 4.50 pm on Sunday and arrested Badsha.

RAB identified the arrestee as an active member of the Ashik Group.

According to the case statement, on March 26, Faisal Badsha, along with his accomplices, allegedly entered Amir Hamza's house and shot him over a dispute stemming from previous enmity.

Local people later rushed Hamza to Chitalmari Upazila Health Complex, where the attending physician declared him dead.

Following the incident, the victim's mother, Meherunnesa, filed a murder case with Chitalmari Police Station.

RAB said the arrested suspect has been handed over to Chitalmari Police Station for further legal proceedings.
